 Hospital Pharmacy Director

The Director is responsible for the administrative direction of NorthBay’s Pharmacy departments, twenty-four hour, seven days per week. This includes the safe and efficient delivery of prescribed drugs during their acute care stay, through discharge. The Director is also responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations of federal and state statutes, Medicare Conditions of Participation, California Title 22 regulations, and Joint Commission standards governing the provision medication management. This director is also responsible for the departments’ financial performance of 7 cost centers, which includes revenue and expenses. S/he is responsible for the continuous improvement of clinical and operational performance maintaining current knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to the areas of pharmacy.

Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy, master’s in health related field preferred. Certification in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other performance improvement methodology OR equivalent experience highly preferred. Five to seven years of related experience in area of responsibility. Three to five years of demonstrated progressive management experience with increasing scope of responsibility. Demonstrated initiative, follow through and ability to work independently. Demonstrated results oriented management style. Demonstrated effective project management skills. Excellent interpersonal, judgment and problem solving skills, with a particular emphasis on political savvy. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to deal with job-related stress, multiple projects and deadlines. Basic computer skills.
